Repairing Fuel Lines
What is the best way to repair the fuel lines on a 1995 Cavalier?
Is it possible to just repair the area with a high pressue fittings or does the entire fuel line need to be replaced? Mine have all cracked (4 or 5 of them?) by the rear tire. |

Re: Repairing Fuel Lines
You can try to "splice" the affected area with pressure fittings and a piece of tube, but, that is risky if ya don't know what you are doing. I suggest replace the line, but this time around, buy some cheap hose, preferably the clear thick plastic type and slip it over the tube near where the line tends to crack. Also, look for tightness in the line between connections, it should have a small amount of "give" so it can bend a touch over bumps.
That may be your problem in reverse, though, too much "give" allowing to much flex at at one area. Ensure the line is secured to the rail/frame/etc. |
