Gas Gauge - WAY Full?

When I fill up my tank it goes like " 1/4 tank" past F does this happen to you? Is it off? Can I fix it? What color is the sky?

happens to me too. Also when you brake hard or go downhill or turn fast the needle goes down.

Re: Gas Gauge - WAY Full?

if youre talking about running out, i ran out once and my needle was on the e, maybe liek apaper width over it. I try to fill up by 1/4 or 1/8th tank.

Re: Gas Gauge - WAY Full?

its cause when you fill up the level bob in the tank is pegged out past the full mark. it stays there cause even though you are burning fuel the level does not bring the bob down past the predetermined full mark. there's really no fix for it, even OBDII cars do it a little. just gonna hafta deal...

Re: Gas Gauge - WAY Full?

thats funny cause i generally dont let my car above 1/2 a tank. gas weighs approx. 7lbs per gallon, which adds up in those 15.5 gal tanks...

Re: Gas Gauge - WAY Full?

I like to give my competitors a fair chance...... + the extra gas comes in handy for those long police chases..... its just not that easy to pull over at a 7/11 and fill up when u have a whole police squad on your butt..... lol JP

Re: Gas Gauge - WAY Full?

this is true, but then the cops around here are kindof nice.

actually if you sat down and did the math u would prolly find it to be more beneficial to have the weight in the rear end for traction than not have it there at all...
