2002 Sport Trac Brakes

I want to change the front brake pads on my sport trac, how hard is this to do? is there any tricks or problems anyone has run into or has?

first of all. watch out for your factory jack,,....it's a piece of shit and very dangerous......make sure you loosen the lugnuts while vehicle is on the ground, e-brake on, put something to hold the diagonal tire from moving, then jack the exploder up.

loosen or remove the two bolts behind the brake caliper, if it starts leaking its the wrong bolt,
I'd suggest having your rotors turned at an autoparts store or something of that type,

but if not fuk it,----maybe be alil sqeaky if not.. keyword:maybe............caliper should slide off..may give you some trouble if u were due along time ago.

pry old brake pads out...use some brake cleaner if your brakes are really dirty. place old brake pad on top of caliper piston and place a c-clamp on top of the old brake pad and over back of caliper, tighten w/ c-clamp until piston is in the caliper...

oh yea loosen bleeder valve right before you push the piston back in so you don't get any dirty brake fluid in the system.

put caliper back on and the two bolts on and tire.

thats everything involved post if you have any trouble.

How hard is it to take off the rotor's? I would have them turned since I have the exploder apart.
