Unhappy Sunroof help.

Hey everyone! I just recently got a 1993 240sX SE from a friend. It has a few problems, but my main concern in this thread is the sunroof. The sunroof does not open or even move for that matter. I don' think it is recieving any power. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this problem so that I spend little no money or if anyone knows what the cost of this mechanical fix can be. If anyone who knows a fair amount about 240's or has done this project, please e-mail me or PM me. I would greatly appreciate any help or pointers anyone has. Thank you!

Re: Sunroof help.

.....I don't think so, you have to open the engine up man, if he was ganna take it to a garage it would be like 300$ of labour only. It was like 800$ total for the Altima.

Re: Sunroof help.

lol 30 bux whahhahahaha we all wish. Shit the chain itself prolly cost that. Its an expensive process. Just get some estimates im sure every shop will be a little bit different. But close to around the same price.

Re: Sunroof help.

Haha, yea, we do all wish the process was only $30. Well, thanks for all your input. Now I have a range of how much I'll need to get that fixed. Thanks guys for all your input. I think I'm gonna go to different garages to check prices, I think that's a good idea. Thanks Chuki_breath.

Oh, another quick question. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of hydrolics for my hatch. The one's that are there right now can't hold up the hatch door anymore, and i was wondering if anyone new where to get them or if anyone had a extra pair i could purchase off of them. Hit me up if you know off the top of your head. Thanks.

Re: Sunroof help.

well if its really cold there then don't worry so much, they'll work better when it gets warmer.. but if you want new ones, the best thing to do is go to a junk yard.. i found 3 240s with fully functional hydrolics.. you could even jack em and stick em down your pants or somethin..

Re: Sunroof help.

Haha! Alright, I'll prolly hit up a junk-yard then! Thanks! Your right, it's madd phuckin' cold where i lve (CT). It just snowed today. Crazy. I hate snow, expecially with this rear-wheel-drive car. It was crazy getting home last nite. But i did temp job on those hydraulics for now. I bent them a little, but only to the point where they still go up and down. It works, but I'm still gonna hit up a junk yard. Thanks D-Bo and everyone else who helped me out.

Alright, I got another quick question, but I'm sure alotta you have had this problem if you tried and installed your own CD player. Alright, here's the deal. I bought a CD player, but I wasn't about to have the company install it becuz it costs to much. So i bought the wiring harness and I connected everything up correctly, but the CD player isn't getting a power for sum reason....does anyone know why? Was a their a specific way of installing it? Hit me up if you know anything about this process. THanks! Ttus!

Re: Sunroof help.

check for a thick yellow wire (power) and a black one (ground).. if they're attached and the deck doesn't work then either a) you aren't getting power from your car or b) they sold you a fried deck.. b happens every once in a while.. my buddy bought a brand new rockford amp and it was toast them moment he put it in.. where did you buy it?
