I have two issues, that I need help with

1. My 1993 V-6 Bird LX shudders when I tap on the gas pedal when it cold, but after it warms up she run fine.

2. The same car rear tire hops when I making a turn (left or right), but work great going straight.

Ok, one more problem

3. The same car, when I hit the gas pedal, sometimes she revs up like is suppose to do, but sometime I have the pedal half way to the floor and she don't respond, just pick up speed.

Do anybody know the fix for the above issues I'm having.

Thanks

Is your check engine light on? Sounds like it could be your mafs, but it could be something else. This is my thoughts on the way it is running.

About your wheel lifting up Does your car have Positive traction or whatever you want to call it? Do you here any grinding from your rear end?

Re: Re: I have two issues, that I need help with

My check engine light is not on, but I was planning on cleaning the MAF today when I get off work. I cleaned the throttle body and it is running 90% better then when I got the car (it was filty).

It not actully lifting off the ground but it like a thump, thump, thump until I finish the turn. I don't know if it is a POSI or not, but when I hit the pedal I can hear both wheel spinning at the sametime.

I just got the car and didn't have a chance to totally check it out.

It sound like it grinding, when I move to PA in March, I will have a heated garage(YEAH ) and I was going to check it out. Maybe it low in gear oil, I hope, really don't feel like change the gears or replacing the differential. Either way I have alot of work to do. I rather change the whole diff. instead of just the gears. I don't have all the tools to measure the backlash if I install new gears.

Thanks

Chatter or grinding during cornering with a posi/trac-loc/limited slip rear end can normally be taken care of by adding friction modifier to the diff. If it was serviced and not added you will destroy the clutches in the diff.

Look inside your door for the code to tell what kind of rear end you have.

As far as the shudder during startup.... my thoughts are MAF. I have a 95 V8 that used to do the same..... it would hold at 2.5k rpm and not go any further till it warmed up.....ended being the MAF Mass Air Flow sensor... once changed.. all was fine....hope this helps.

Cleaned the MAF sensor (that little thing cause that) and the car runs fine now. I planning on flushing out the TC and changing the trans filter, plus the rear end oil this weekend.

I am very please with the cleaning of the MAF she had power I didn't know that was there.

Just don't forget the friction modifier if you have trac-loc.

it's a part of the intake, located directly after the air box. has a plug going into the top part of it.

Re: I have two issues, that I need help with

It's "friction modifier". Any number of companies make the stuff. Just ask the parts guy where it is if you can't find it back with the gear lube.

Re: I have two issues, that I need help with

Trac-Loc was an option. Cell phone probably aftermarket. Don't remember them having 4 wheel disc brakes. To the best of my knowledge only the Sport and SC versions would have discs on all 4 corners.
