cd player problem....any help?

Hey, I have a 99 Denali and it has one of those slave cd players that are not attached to the main stereo. whenever i put in a cd, the cd player tries to read the cd, then ejects it and the screen on tha stereo says ERROR. this happens every time i put in a cd, and i have tried multiple cd's. i cleaned it out and it still does it, can anyone help me? thanx, j

If it has been cleaned properly and the problem still exists, then you'll need to replace the unit or bring it to a competant electronics repair shop to be fixed.

Sorry no quick and easy answer on this one.

Agreed. No purpose of having it fixed, it will cost more than buying one! The lens has been damaged! They will have to replace the lens....

I had mine do the same thing. You can get one on eBay. I removed mine out of the dash and removed a plate to see what was wrong. I tried running a CD with it out but the CD would not spin. I then turned the motor by hand to see if it was free and it was. I put the CD back in and it started to spin and work OK. No problems for the last 6 month now.. You might try this before buying one. Dave
