In progress - Lexus tuner, Veilside Civic, and '63 'Vette

I've started 3 new quickie projects.

First up is a Lexus IS200. It is the Castrol racing version kit, but I will be making it as a mild tuner.
A similar wing came in the kit, but it was too wide. So I modified the wing that came in the Revell Integra.
It's been lowered and 19" Racing Harts crammed up under the wheel wells.
I filled in the front license plate recess here.

Now in color. I used Cobra Colors Lamborghini Verde Artemis Pearl. This is the color on the 40th Anniversary Murcielago.
It needs clear coated still. I can't hardly wait to see it after clear.

Next up is a SAS Veilside Civic Coupe. It will be a little bit more wild than the Lexus.
I will probably use the Integra Type R wheels on this one, I'm not quite sure yet.
The hood and rear wing will be Carbon Fiber. The SAS kit fit perfectly.

Body kit fitted.

The body kit requires dual exhaust, so I've scratch built 2 mufflers. They will be CF most likely. I will also add metal tips to the mufflers.
Here the Pipes have been extended past the body so the angle is correct.

I will trim the pipes to the mark shown. The mufflers have a hole in one end, and will slide over the exhaust pipes during final assembly.

I sprayed this one in Cobra Colors Ferrari Scuderia Red.

And last but not least. A 1963 Split window Corvette.
Watching the Barrett-Jackson auction on Speedvision this weekend got me fired up to build this beauty.

It's in a light shot of primer still, I have some body work left to do.
It will be sprayed in (you guessed it) Cobra Colors Grigio Alloy - a Ferrari blue silver similar to one of the colors this car came in originally.

Wow, these are all going to be awesome! The 'vette is going to be especially kickin'. Is that CC primer you're using too? You've got me hooked on them and am wondering how well that stuff works, too. Great work on those three, I am very much looking forward to seeing them under paint and eventually finished!

Re: In progress - Lexus tuner, Veilside Civic, and '63 'Vette

Thanks for looking guys.

This kit is an older AMT kit #6520. They pop up on EBAY from time to time. I picked this one up at a model car show for $10.

It's a pretty good kit, so far. It's gonna need a lot of help to look correct. I'll do what I can. There are many building options in one box.
4 engine configurations, including the mighty 427, 3 different hoods, 2 different sets of wheels. Optional ride heights. My plans are to have a moderately stock looking car.

Hape - I bought those wheels when they first came out at my local HobbyTown USA. I wouldn't know where to find them now. Maybe HLJ.com

Re: Re: In progress - Lexus tuner, Veilside Civic, and '63 'Vette

Those are great! The color on the Lexus is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lovely!!! Cobra Colors' looks beautiful! The Civic is great in red! At first I thought that the hood and rear spoiler were done in Kevlar decal. The Vette is cool BTW. I saw complete coverage of the Barrett-Jackson Auction this weekend also and i must say im starting to like these American cars! Soo many beautiful cars in that auction and soo many rich folks! All piled up under the same roof
