Road salt in engine compartment!
Is it normal for salt from the road salt to get into the engine compartment? I can't remember this being the case in any of my other cars. The dealer claims that it is spray coming from other cars in front of me and enters through the grill and is distributed by the engine fans. It seems that the spray is only on the drivers side and covers the battery, air filter cover, fuse box, fire wall and the hood pad. It does not cause any problem other than a dirty engine compartment. Any one else experience this?

yeh i have it too.
2004 highlander. the only thing you can do is clean it. if you notice the engine area is not sealed in very good at the bottom. totally exposed to the road. doesn't seem to make sense given this is sort of an off road capable suv |
