Rear end going out???
There is a high pitch sound coming from the rear end in my Camaro anytime the tach is under 2grand. Once the car hits 2grand+ it completly goes away. The noise sounds like its coming from the passenger side but its hard to tell because its so high pitched. I though either the rearend is going out or maybe a bearing is broken... Do you think changing the rear axel fluid would fix/help this problem?

Thats a good place to start...
Have you noticed any leaks in that area? |

Re: Rear end going out???
could be a bearing. check the fluid, do a visual, and try to localize the noise...

Re: Rear end going out???
I haven't noticed any leaks so I was hoping the fluid was low and/or a bearing is wearing out. I am probably going to be checking/changing the fluid this weekend (Seattle weather=RAIN) if the weather is nice.

Re: Rear end going out???
Well I changed the differential fluid today and it wasn't that. I am thinking of taking it to Les Schwab and having them check to see if its a bearing because its starting to get higher pitched (aka more annyoing).
