EVIC Upgrade

I would like to upgrade my basic outline graphic VIC located in the lower section of the dash area on my 1997 Grand to the more comprehensive graphic info center...doors open, drive mode, fuel levels, light bulbs out, etc.
The 20 pin rear connector on the back of the upgraded EVIC center is the same as on the basic existing one that i have installed but when i connect up the plug to the upgraded EVIC nothing lights up, do i have to modify any of the wiring for it to work.

Hello dksob81

It is the Electronic Vehical Information Center that is located in the lower dash area just above the ashtray, by upgrade i mean change the very basic center that just shows the 4 wheel drive icons, for the more graphic type that tells you ...doors open, drive mode, fuel and fluid levels, tail light bulbs out...etc

Re: EVIC Upgrade

well I'm kinda lost now.
Are you saying it speaks to you (telling you when something is wrong) b/c mine already lets me know when the Fluids are low, when in 4LO, when doors are open.

Re: EVIC Upgrade

I have the same downgraded version. Let me know if you can do the swap, I saw the one your talking about on ebay, but was afraid that it wouldn't work. I'd like the better one too,so let me know if you figure this out!
