Unhappy 94 Z24 cav wont start

Ok i dont know what the deal is with my car its a 94 Z24 cav the morning that i started it it started really slow. I drove for about two miles stopped at about two or three lights then I was stopping at another light and it stalled on me. When I tried to start it again it didnt do anything we pushed the car over to a gas station and tried to boost it nothing so we left it. the next day I went back and tried to start it again this time it was making a clicking noise. But still wouldnt start. I got the car towed home and again a few days later tried to boost again and all that did was make the clicking a little faster. So i had a friend take the battery and the alt. off we took both to get tested and they were both said to be fine. My friend said that he took the start to get tested the next day while i was at work and said that it was fine. I dont know what the deal is I hate this car i have had at least two starters in the last year 1/2 and two alts. in the samn amount of time. Also say the lights are on when i turn the key they go off until i let go, then they will come back on. Someone please help me. Im about to loose it. oh yeah it was a really cold day too if that makes a difference. thanx Melynda

It is the sound of the starter not getting any juice. If the battery is fine and you tried to jump it off another car, then there must be a bad ground or some other bad connection. Maybe even condensation. Try to clean up the battery terminal mating surfaces (wires and the battery itself) with some rough snadpaper until they are shiny and then connect the battery and see if she turns over. Hopefully that's the problem otherwise looking for a bad ground can be a nightmare! But the starter is a good place to start, clean the connection there up with the sandpaper too if just the battery doesn't work.

Re: 94 Z24 cav wont start

Under your car down by the start you should see a small group of wires that connect to the engine block or the transaxle with either a bolt or nut.. Inspect these wires to make sure none of these wires are broken or just about ready to break.. Remove all of these wires and clean each side of each wire to where they are very clean and real shinny with sandpaper.. Also clean the engine block or transaxle where these wires connect.. replace the wires and see if that helps.. This is a common non-start problem for GM products.
Hope This helps Take Care!
