Angry Ahhhh! Wtf Why Now!?!?!

god dammit what the fuck is wrong with my stupid car now,
i just replaced the alternator like 2 weeks ago brand new not refurbished. All of a sodden i crank my car up and the battery light is on so i went down the street to see if it would go away, i poped the hood and it freakin reeks of somthing nasty burning from the alternator! i was soo fuckin mad i raced home trying to sqeeze in a parking space i fuckin scraped the side of my back bumper!! but it comes out easy ( i rubbed my thumb into it and it was coming off ) ....there's some kind of fucking curse following me ever since i starting collecting parts for my trubo project, i had everything ready except for my bov that doushe took 2 months to ship it!! then i found out my fucking adaptor plate was for another turbo! purchased my oil line kit it came in quick but without the return hose!!.. today in school i was thinkin to myself "ok :fhew: got all that bs takin care of now all i have left to do is send my ecu to get chipped for my 450cc's and begin installing the turbo, the in 5 more day's i get my ecu back and then IM BOOSTIN!!! BUT NOOOOO this shhit is startin up agian.

sorry for the long annoying post, just had to let it all out..

anyway why is my alternator doing this? i dont have a system or anything like that, i think its dead i pulled he negitive cable while it was started and it died. I dont want to buy a new one agian before fixing the problem.
Thanks in advance for your help

Re: Ahhhh! Wtf Why Now!?!?!

Because your car has an ECU, just pulling the negative battery cable isn't going to tell you squat. You need to get an ohm meter and get a reading between the battery posts while the car is running. It should be in the 14-15 volt range... If not, you might not have enough tension on your alternator belt... Or you might have too much... I think that was my problem with my alternator and it's squealing.. It would squeal and I could smell burnt rubber, almost like the alternator pulley was stopping and the belt was rubbing around it while it was stopped or not going as fast. Anyways, might not be the alternator, but your tension rather.

Sounds like you have a short some where check you ignition switch. Also check the main wire that goes to your alt.

Re: Ahhhh! Wtf Why Now!?!?!

Well you say the smell is more elctrical.. you will know if its your belt cause not only will it smell like rubber, but it will smoke like a bitch.. Test to see what kinda charge its throwing out.. But it sounds like it could be a bad ground if your egine light came on... but if its not throwing a good charge, that will turn your egine light on too.. But you said its brand new.. let your warranty fix it!!!!

Re: Ahhhh! Wtf Why Now!?!?!

OK, well first off, with it being a brand brand new alternator, it could be just your bushings getting worked in. When new, they tend to get a little warm until worked in, However that wouldn't make your egine light come on. Check connections, test, and let us know.

Re: Ahhhh! Wtf Why Now!?!?!

probably, either its a crappy alternator or it burnt itself out cuz the tension was too high

Re: Ahhhh! Wtf Why Now!?!?!

you know. this whole time it was probably a bad crapped out alternator.. Like i was always told, You can get in the same problems with a new car as you would with a used car. So ya never know, maybe getting a rebuilt one may have saved you money and time.. At least you got your warranty..
