Possible Ign Prob.
I just recently purchased a 85 RX-7 GSL-SE
Runs great, starts up on first try, but when shifting into 5th gear i lose voltage and the engine starts to sputter and miss...and then finally i lose all throttle control (pedal does nothing). I can pull over, take it out of gear and wait for the engine to stop its fit and start again. It will not act up unless i shift into 5th gear and i can see the voltage gauge drop below 12 and the engine begins its fit. Also i have noticed if i let it sit for an extended time it starts sputtering and i can only rev the engine to 2800 rpm max....even if pedal to the floor. Rotary engines are new to me and the service manuals you buy at an auto store only tell me how to remove and replace sensors and relays nothing on what each do and how they react to each other...any help would be greatly appreciated....
