How do I remove Injectors?

Got my engine swap taken care of and have the new KA w/ only 1,652 miles on it in. (have pics of some of the internals) However 2 of the injectors are bad so I need to put two from my old engine on there. I know I could swap the full fuel rail but this one looks so pretty and new. I just can't get the injectors out of the rail. I have both rails by themself w/ the injectors in them but can't get any of them out. Anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to get these things out w/ out hurting them.

Re: How do I remove Injectors?

it just takes some man power. Iv taken em out and fuel comes flying out with them into my mouth and in my eye. It sucked. Of course mine was still hooked up to the engine.

get a towel and put it over the top of the injector. then use a vice grip and very very gentlely twist and tug.

don't forget to grease up the o-rings on the new injectors with vasaline or oil becuase those o-ring will ripe ( which would cause leaks and rich running conditions ) if you don't.

Re: How do I remove Injectors?

Anyone here ever removed injectors before? I mean there has to be someone who knows how to do it other then the post about using a hammer, cause that doesn't fix the problem of not wanting to damage them now does it?

Re: How do I remove Injectors?

Tat has removed and installed injectors I'm sure.

Chuki, you relieved fuel pressure didn't you? Yea, fuel in your face does suck.

wow i've never had to remove the whole fuel rail before. anyways if you want to relieve the pressure, what i did was access my fuel pump ( on the hump inbetween the back seat, and trunk space )and pull out both connectors goin to it, then just run the car till it stalls out.

then just be really careful with a towel, and a wrench of a vice gripe and pull and twist very very carefully so you don't ruin the top of the injectors. however using hte hammer seems to be another option too.

Re: How do I remove Injectors?

nissanfanatic i don't think the fuse will relieve the pressure.. even with the car off, the pressure will still stay for quite a while.. if your car hasn't been running for a while (2 weeks minimum) then you'll be fine, it'll dribble out but at least not spray.. if it HAS been running then do what tat suggested.. make sure you have lots of cloth around.. it could get messy even with lowered pressure..

Re: How do I remove Injectors?

wait a minute... i'm terribly sorry, i'm on those drugs alexious gave me.. i didn't know you meant pulling the fuse to the fuel pump while the car was running, i thought you meant something else, that makes absolutely no sense at all..
