The Casino Thread
This is the official Casino thread
Talk about anything Casino related... what games you guys like playing the best, which ones you think give you the best odds, etc. I go to a Casino every once in a while prolly on average about once every 2 weeks and i like playin Roulette. I like Roulette cause of the big payouts if you get lucky, 35:1 is fun to hit then you just see your stacks of chips turn to mountains And it takes a pretty long time to play, so you can just chill and enjoy your time. I'd say the odds arent too bad if you know how to play and spread your money around. I also play Blackjack and Sic Bo sometimes, but i've never played Hold'em at the Casino only at home games. Might try it out soon, but theres prolly no difference, just that you're playing with people you dont know. Let the gamble-aholics come in and enjoy the thread

Re: The Casino Thread

It's so fun and everyone's so loud n shit. I find it more entertaining. You don't see peopel screaming and laughing and yelling at the blackjack tables. I'm still a big fan of Blackjack tho. God... I love craps. Craps craps craps. Crap-ity craps.

Blackjack. I am a legend at blackjack. Went to the casino after the club on Saturday. Shitfaced and still doubled my money.

Re: The Casino Thread
I hit the Wisconsin casinos every once in a while (18 age limit), I like to play a little blackjack and craps.
I think I'll like it a lot better when I'm over 21, getting drunk and throwing away money like crazy. I love Vegas, its been my town since I was like 5 or so, and I've gone probably more than a dozen times since then. Vegas is just dying for me to turn 21

Never played Craps in a casino (only roll them bones on the street haha) i heard its kinda hard. All i know is you gotta roll 7 or 11 and they make it all complicated at the Casino. The Casino closest to me has over 50 tables but it doesnt have a Craps table for some reason |

Anyway, whenever im in LA I go to casino almost everday mostly to play Hold'em or blackjack. To me, those seem like the games with the best odds but i usually end up losing anyway lol.For some reason, LA seems to be a haven poker players. There are so many casinos in the immediate vicinity with really great poker rooms and decent stakes. My favorites are the new Morongo, Bicycle, and Viejas. Anyhoo, i love casino but i wish i had a little more self-control haha.

If i'm in a bit of a rut i like to skip a few hands. Tends to work out well but pisses the other people at the table off no end .. Gambling addicts... they look for anyone to pin their losses on... But my #1 tip? Quit while you're ahead

I figure, the longer you play, the more you lose. If you walk out while you're ahead, atleast you're walking out with free money in your pocket. So basically you're a winner, if you get greedy, you'll loose it all |

There's a casino a few hundred yards from my condo. I go there a few times a year to hit the craps table. Its the best game in the house.

When you get into a poker room at a casino, usually there will be this big white blackboard with a list of all the games playing and the names of people waiting to get on a tables. All you do is look for the person with the mic, give him your name and the game you want to play and he or she will call you over the intercom when a table is open. At most casinos, the stakes at or beyond $3-6 sometimes have the name "kill" after them. This means that they play with kill pots. When a person wins two hands in a row, the pot is said to be "killed" on the 3rd game and the stakes are doubled. Lets say you are playing $6-12 and you suddenly kill a pot. Boom, all of a sudden your in $12-24 table and the name of the game has just changed. Also, the person who killed the pot is required to be bet the big blind (which in this case is $12) before ever seeing his hand, which ensures action. Finally, a string bet occurs when a player bets more chips than he has claimed he wanted to. A classic example of this is when someone tries to raise a pot, but has to reach for his chips twice in order to pay the right amount. If he didn't say the word "raise" before betting, it appears to the other players that he is just calling a pot, which gives that player an unfair advantage. So, he is not allowed to do that. Another example: say you are in a no limit game and you want to raise the pot big but you forgot to say the word raise. The maximum you can bet is the total amount chips you have grabbed from the beginning of your betting phase. Once the chips cross the betting line, you cannot go back and grab for more. But, if you say raise before your actions, then you can bet however much you want. Other than that, and knowing the basic betting structure of limit, casino is pretty much the same as the home games most of us played. I recommend staying away from No-Limit if you are kinda new to the game. Stick with something small like $3-6 or $2-4 in the beginning until you get the hang of it. Then move up to higher games. The general rule of thumb is, the higher the stakes, the more legit the players are, and the less likely you are of getting bad beat (which you see a lot at the $2-4, $3-6, and $5-10 tables). But, the good thing is that a lot of casinos have a thing called that bad beat jackpot where if a player has a certain hand beaten (usually aces full of jacks or higher), then he wins a large percentage of the bad beat jackpot (usually 10 grand). And the people sitting at the table recieve a tableshare of the jackpot just for being there (usually around 2 grand). cool stuff oh yeah, yes you can leave at any time. well, hope that helps Nick
