'90 ciera power window prob.
the driver's power window switches do not work. The other windows will go down with their own switch, but from the drivers control unit, none work. We replaced the fuse just hoping.. but of course, that wasnt it. I took it out to make sure all of the wires were connected and they were. Assuming its not the window motor or anything since all 4 buttons do not work, does anyone have any ideas?
thanks. |

My dad's 89 Cutlass Cierra had a similar problem that drove us crazy until we checked the wires going from door into passenger compartment. There should be a rubber "boot" between door and the car body, which houses the wires. Visable when door open. Over time, some will break /short and cause a lot of this. repaired them and works fine. Try that first. may have to cut the boot, depending on how yours is. Use some heat shrink tubing to seal it after fixing.
