My muffler fell off, PLEASE HELP.

92' Accord.

Maybe a 2 weeks ago, my muffler fell of when i drove for about 3 hours in the blizzard.

There was already a hole in it before, and the snow could have taken it off.

Problem:My dad says im going to need the whole new system, cat-back and all.

It fell of clean (the pipe is still straight).

Cant i just buy a muffler? Like those guys buy those annoying sounding mufflers for $50 and get em welded on?

-Thanks.

yeah you could, but if your exhaust had a hole in it, but it will be cheaper in the long run to get the whole catback, because chances are the entire exhaust is rusting and better off replacing the entire thing now before even more damage gets done.

Re: My muffler fell off, PLEASE HELP.

Buy a muffler you like, take it to mieneke or whatever your local exhaust shop is and have them build you a custom exhaust...if you don't want a loud and obnoxious sounding one, then just ask them to make it out of factory sized piping...if you want it louder and want a few more hp, ask them to make it from 2.5" piping.

I had a guy at my local shop build me a 2.5" catback, and attach my new muffler for $200...which is alot cheaper than any other catback, factory or aftermarket.

I Agree. Just Go To A Muffler Shop And Have Them Make You A Cat Back. If You Put A New Muffler On A Rusted Exhaust, The Muffler Might Rust Cause Rust Spreads And It Will Be More Work When The Rest Of The Exhaust Fails. I Bought My 2 Mufflers On Ebay, And Went To A Shop That Charged Me 150, To Do A Catback Custom Dual Exhaust For Me. Thats In Ny Though.
