Obd Ii
I need to know if these cars have OBD II:
2004 Honda Odyssey 2004 Saturn Vue AWD V6 2000 Lexus ES 300 Thanks in advance! |

All of those cars have OBD II. All cars sold in America after 1996 (i believe) are OBD II.

OBD II is mandantory on ALL vehicles manufactured after January 1st 1996. Something about emissions or some crap like that.

All 96 and later passenger vehicles and light trucks manufactured for sale in the U.S. were required to have OBD II.
The following pre '96 cars have it as well: http://www.obdii.com/connector.html - note that some are not fully compliant with the standard. The following 2003 and later vehicles use the new CAN bus communication standard: http://www.auterraweb.com/aboutcan.html The purpose of OBD II is not strictly emissions "crap". While it can be used to monitor the of car's emissions system status, it's more important feature is that you can access almost all the ECM inputs/outputs and diagnose problems with the car. Like it or not, modern cars are controlled by computers, and to fix them you have to be able to talk to the computer. |
