NO SPARK in 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hello all, have a question. I was driving my girlfriend's 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (5L V8), and at a light it just died on me. Pushing it off to the side of the road, I checked all fuses and relays, nothing was wrong. I had it towed home, and checked for spark from the coil, and nothing. I looked around and apparently the cause for a problem like this is the crank position sensor. Is there any test I can do to check to see if it is that or the coil for sure? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
