airbag removal for heater core replacement

i have to replace on my girlfriends '95 Escort LX the heater core - the only thing i'm worried (except that it is a pain in the ...) are both airbags - how to disconnect them and get them out (driver and passenger side). In my manual is only the driver side airbag described (and that very confusing) - has anyone done that already and has a step-by-step instructions for me?!?
