Ok, here is a crazy situation. AC lists TWO sets of replacement shocks for the 1998 Aurora on their web site as does Rock Auto. AC and Rock Auto numbers are: 504-96 and 504-547. Both numbers are listed. The local GM dealer has the same. Which is right? THANK YOU!

I can beat that one
My manual (1996) shows the left air shock with one part No. and price and the right with a different part No. and price. I used Monroe MaxAir #MA822 $141.29Cdn (1 pair)

I don't think my air shocks were any good when I purchased my Aurora.
She was fully loaded on a trip from the airport and bottomed out on a short ramp. When I checked the fuse it kept blowing as the shocks were not holding air. The monroes took less than an hour to install and they work really great.

Your welcome
So I guess between A/F and ACNA the Monroes win.

Re: Which Ac Delco Rear Air Shocks?
The other day I ordered the 504-547's for mine because they are "air adjustable" since I have level ride. (but don't ALL Auroras have that?) Anyway, I figured I can return them if they're not the right ones. RockAuto has great prices, but this is the first time I've dealt with them. Does anyone have any comments on them? I'll let you know how they work out when they arrive.

They're HERE!
The 504-547's came in and have been installed! The car has that nice firm feel again! The shocks are different than my originals, though... I don't know if that's an OEM upgrade or not. I thought that since I got AC-Delcos, I would get the same ones the car came with. I also had to cut off the original air hose connector and used the one supplied with the new shocks. Installation was a snap, though. A little disappoining since I wanted to keep it like original, but that in no way takes away from the ride. The ride and stability are excellent. I'd get them again, unless I can find performance shocks. Speaking of, at some point I'll need struts in the front. I'm leaning towards KYGs or AC-Delcos, any suggestions from the forum?
P.S. Thanks to this forum, I now know that I have the AUTOBAHN package! WOOOHHOOOOOO!!!! "I'll eat mustangs for breakfast!"

Re: Which Ac Delco Rear Air Shocks?
Replaced my OEM air shocks with Monroe MA822 cost 59.99 for a pair. the air fittings fit easy. Ride as good as delco stuff at 1/3 times the price. Also used Monroe Strutts, cheap and work great. Don't think the Delco stuff is worth a primium over monroe.
