Cool e36 328i

After my bout with leukemia, and a year of therapy, and alot of soul searching, I am back and 100%. I started back in school, to be a CNA, then hopefully to nursing school. I am on the waiting list, 2006, PHEWWW. I sold my 2000 328i when I was in the hospital, cause I just felt so bad with it sitting, and not getting used, so I sold it to my friend courtney and she just loves it. I have a question. I want to get back in a BMW, and I want a 328i, and I was looking at a 98. I was reading in my issue of BIMMER about the structural weakness of the E36 , and the floorpan failure and all. I drive hard sometimes, and I dont want that to happen to me. I read that 98+ had the x brace, and structural support, does this fix the problem. And as for reliability, do you guys have any suggestions? I wont have an auto, love the 5 speed. Sport package is a plus, dont much care about luxury, I like a sporting ride, but with 4 door versatility, and look. So if you guys have any suggestions, please let me know, thanks!!!!

Re: Im back!!!

Welcome back bimmerboi ! ! !

the e36 had issues with the Rear Subframe and have to use Reinforcement Plates cause, if not it can tear a hole in the mount and you'll hear a loud banging sound when you get on the gas.

Check it out http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html..._ID=4111225649

Also, If you get a bimmer without a Xbrace here's the DIY: http://www.ohiomotorcycle.com/understeer/xbrace.shtml

Good Luck ! !
