Hi
I just got a 1994 chevy lumina euro, when I drive it ,after 1 minute it slips out of gear, if I shut it off and restart it it goes good for another minute or so,and I have to do the same thing again,Is there a sensor that could be causing this ? or is thetranny on the way out? It makes a clicking sound in reverse and when I first take off. Also the fluid smells burnt, but it looks like a new tranny was just put in it. I drove it 300 miles like this from washington to buffalo. I would get sometimes 2 to 5 miles before i would have to shut it off and restart it. and then go another 2 to 5 miles. took me a long time to get the car home. any help with this? Thanks |

Re: 94 lumina trans slips out of gear
first start by changing the fluid and filter and maybe an additive like Lucas or something. it's a messy job so get a big pan and a lot of floor dry.
