Question 1.8l 4g37nt

I have this ass of a friend with a Stock 90 Civic SOHC 1.5L (Manual Trans)(with a duct Taped on Autozone High Flow Filter lol) that wants to race my 1.8L (4G37) Eclipse GS (A/T)I have recently purchased and installed: Rear/Front Upper Strut Tower Bars, Injen Intake, And Custom Installed Catback AIRMASS THUNDERMUFF EXHAUST(LOUD AS H*LL)... I Have also Upgraded the plugs From Stock NGKs to Bosch Platinum 4+ Plugs, Bosch Wires and Dis Cap/Rotor... bought the Eclipse 3 months ago for $800 with a Major Trans Problem...The Car Would Not Move at all the trans chattered majorly... I have been in the process of rebuilding the A22 A/T and found that the Pressure Washer had exploded (probably do to the cause of numerous Nuetral Bombs) causing the pieces to float around the trans and chew the livin sh*t out of the Planetary gear set and most of the other parts... Well I ordered all brand new internals... painted the trans cases... and have begun to put the trans back together... Everything i have purchased has not been in any way OEM... I got a lot of the parts from the Trans Tech Corp and many other... all together in parts i have spent over $4400 in parts not including the transvalve body... It is a true Racing A/T... Do you think this car would destroy his Civic or not??? If anyone knows of any high performance NT parts i could put into this it would be helpfull(or websites) I figuring im running about 115-125 HP... what do you think
oh yeah and i have 16" American Racing Rims(Yeah I know they suck but they came with the car) with Kumho All Season Racing Street Tires... Any Info Would be Great, thanks from one Mitsubishi Lover to the Next

Re: 1.8l 4g37nt

the best thing you could do for your motor is to turbo it. since you seem experienced with motors im not gonna go into a whole shitload of details but search around here some, there are a couple of people with 1.8 eclipse with t3/t4 turbos. its not as easy to make power with as a stock turbo car but since you already have 4k in a trans that wont work with a turbo motor........

BTW check out vfaq.com for the maf silencer removal mod

So pointless to race such slow cars, and I hate to break it to u, your only running about 92hp. Good reliable motor, and good gas milage on the bright side.
