speedometer troubles

on the highway today i was cruising along bmw came up and i slammed throttle the car took off and when i looked down my speedo was back at the spot where it would be if you shut the car off. the question is now it wont work and is there any way i can get that back i like my speedo. its a 85 mph speedo and i guess i was going a lil fast.

weird, are the other gauges and needles working fine, if not, fuse, if they are, maybe your speedo cable is screwed up?

Check the speed sensor on the wheel too.

**Note** I am not 100% sure if it is on the wheel, or if its digital or analog. I am pretty sure they have one in that area, but if all else fails look into that.

I'm not sure either but if its a cable driven speedo then maybe your cclip broke that was holding the cable in and the cable loosened itself, happened on a buddies car and made the speedo say were doing 10 no matter what we were doing, just popped out.
