sc300 or sc400

Hello! iv got some questions i really need answered... if they r confusing sry just ask me to refrase it again.. need some opinions here lol.. ok im looking to buy a SC300 or SC400 but im not sure which 1 .... and if it is a 300 i would deffinatly want a 5 speed manual ... iv read a lot of these forum and iv been thinking about this

if u want to swap the motor no matter which model u want,is it all right to go ahead and get a sc400 cause ull have the more power for the time that u dont upgrade to better engine ?? can u swap the v8 for the 2jz or the 2.5l?

i couldnt find a single sc300 that wasnt a v6 for sale in the U.S (like the already turbo kind...) i dont know wat its called.. and so if i get a automatic of either can i put the new engine in and make it to a manual trans ? because if i can make it manual that would help cause automatic's tend to be cheaper than the manual and the manual's r\are hard to find..... i only have a 4500 budget on the car itself i dont care if it has lots o miles caus eill replace the motor neways .. a couple of dent r fine as long as i get 1 lol !

ok to start off with, all sc300s have inline 6s in them, the non turbo supra engine.

all of the sc400s hava a 4L V8 in them.

The sc400s are much more luxurious.

I would assume that if you were going to do an engine swap then it would be easier to do it in a sc300 because it already should have the right engine mounts.

however. twin turboing the V8 produces insane amounts of power. and would cost about the same as an engine swap. possibly less.

as for the manuall thing. they are REALLY hard to find in manual. sc400s were never released in manual. and from what i have heard it is quite expensive to swap.

Thumbs up

The 300 handles better but the 400 is faster. I own one of each. The 2.5 turbo was never installed in a USDM Lexus but I have seen 2JZ swaps. Yes, they did make an automatic 2.5.
