engine swap

my brother had a focus but got rid of it, anyways he told me that i should just buy a used VW 1.8 T engine and put that in? what are your thoughts about this

Put the VW motor in the Focus? I think you'd be better off just taking the money to buy the VW engine and put it into totally rebuilding the Focus engine...much fewer headaches and compatablity problems. You can get a Zetec up there HP wise if you build it right...if you want you can run a turbo or supercharger too with that money. Just my two cents.

i was told not to get a supercharger cause the most hp i would get is around 180 even with it built up with mods. my friend has an evo and i wanna be able to at least keep up with him. so should i still stick with the supercharger or go with a turbo kit.

The S/C kits for the Focus are fairly limited power wise, so if you really want power, go with the turbo...there was just a thread from a couple days ago about Focus turbos. Check that out for ideas.
