2001.5 Headlight Switch/Harness Installation

Hi,

I just purchased a 2001.5 (new body style) Passat. The dealer had ordered a headlight harness, but had not installed it yet. So, I am left with installing the part. Can someone tell me how to find the headlight harness for the passenger side headlight? Or even how to get to the back of the headlight. I am assuming once I find the existing part, I can just take the new one and hook it up exactly as it was.

Thanks so much,
Stephanie

There are 2 harness for the headlight.
There is a harness inside the headlamp housing (which requires removal of the front bumper to get the headlamp off to get the harness out in install the new one.)
There is the engine bay harness that attaches to the headlamp on the outside.

Hi veedubmechanic,

Thanks so much for the help. I was able to get the harness installed and the lights work now. It was a major headache, but now I have a little insight into my car.

Best regards,
Stephanie
