1993 caravan transmission won't work hot

On a snowy day a couple weeks ago, the transmission had
difficulty disengaging when stopped. There was a whinning sound. about 15 miles later, difficulty engaging after stopped. Then on the road, no power through the transmission. pulled over.
None of the gears worked. Starting, and restarting the engine had no effect.
Towed home. When I started the engine today, it worked in both Drive, and reverse. After the engine warmed up, the transmission was dead in all gears. Checked Fluid Level It was OK. No Dashboard indicators. Any ideas?
Thanks

It sounds like one of the pumps burnt out and you will need to take it to a tranny shop for a rebuild. The whining you heard was the pump and it probably burnt itself out at that time. The transmission works cold because of clearances are reduced and the fluid is thicker. The only way you are going to fix this is to repair or replace the transmission.

I had a similar problem on a 93 Caravan.
The transmission would not work when hot.

Got a rebuilt model. 1500$CDN + 500 installation.

Warranty was 1 year. It's been two years and I starting to have minor issues again.
