Question How hard is it to change a clutch?

Just wondering how hard it is to change a clutch in a Blazer. I don't have to do it right now, but it probably won't be that long before I do. I bought the vehicle used with 74,000 miles on it, and the people I bought it off of had never changed it.

I was just wondering for the sake of wondering I suppose. Anyone have any experience on how bad it is on a Blazer?

Re: How hard is it to change a clutch?

If it's two wheel drive, the hardest thing is to get to the two top bolts of the bell housing.
If it's 4X4, the transfer case and front driveshaft have to be removed before starting on the transmission. Otherwise, it's basically the same.
The transfer case is awkward due to it's position and shape. Drain the transfer case fluid out first. Make sure you disconnect all electrical connectors, vacuum hoses and vent tube before removing (most people miss the vent tube until they're pulling it down).
