Question multifunction headlight switch

I have a faulty multifunction headlight switch in my 94 GAGT w/cruise.

I replaced it back in September and it failed already....shoddy mfg. I think.

Autozone would not off any type of replacement (had receipt, but they had no record of the purchase on their system).

Before I go and spend $100 at Advanced for one with a 1 yr replacement, I was wondering if and how hard it was to rebuild one?

Any help would be appreciated.....
My low beams won't work unless I play with the switch for about 10 minutes. The highs and the signals, 4ways and cruise all work fine. After I play with the switch and the lows come on, if I use a turn signal they go back out and I have to play some more. Eventually everything works but it takes a good 10-15 minutes sometimes to get it all functioning. As soon as I shut the car off and come back to go again, I have to go through the process all over again. This leads me to believe it is in the switch itself.

Any help on the rebuild vs. replace idea would be nice.

Thanks.

You can do it, but there are a lot of little springs inside that can go flying and I didn't have the patience for it. When mine went out, I replaced it with a new GM switch and it has been good for 5 years.
