2000 Limited wiper problem

I have a 2000 limited with rain sensing. The problem that I am having is that the wipers will start on there own with the selector switch in the off postition and continue running. No matter where the selector switch is. They do stop eventually. Has anyone come across this problem.
Thanks

I had similar problem. The shop changed the rain sensor and switch with no fix before finally changing the wiper motor. The Park switch in the motor was intermittant.

Re: 2000 Limited wiper problem

Thanks, I to changed the wiper motor to solve the problem. From talking to an exGM mechanic this is a common problem with this type of wiper motor. Water gets into the motor and shorts out the control board. The design of the motor allows water to pool around the board.
