Check engine light problems

Hey all,

I have an 01 Isuzu Rodeo with a 3.2 V-6 and 65,000 miles. My problem is I had a Check engine light on and ran the code and it was p0300 random miss fire. I noticed no missing but had what sounded like an exhaust leak on the d-side bank. I just bought this vehicle and did not know any history. I bought some plugs and a new fuel filter. As I removed the plugs I started on pass. side. I noticed they were all loose and had been replaced before. When I got to the d-side on the second one back I found where combustion gasses had come around the plug where it was so loose. This was my noise. After repair I cleared the codes with my scanner and test drove. Just like before the check engine light came on. Also like before it only comes on when the accellerator is pressed and it flashes. It goes off when you let up and coast. Pulled the codes and had p0300 random miss. I fill no miss at all and vehicle idles and drives good but is hard on gas. As I went home I pulled codes again and had a pending po304 cylinder 4 miss fire, but again felt no miss. If any body could help me I would appreciate it. Also what order are the cylinders numbered. Thanks for all your time.

what kind of spark plugs are in it

If you have a 2000-2004 Isuzu, make sure you only use Denso K16PR-P11 spark plugs. The 2000-2004 engines have the GM/delphi "ion sensing" ignition system where the spark plugs are used as a sensor (when they are not firing) to measure the electrical resistance of the gasses in the combustion chamber. Other plugs may cause the ECU to register a code (misfire code: P1340).
