Question Climate control/radio bezel electrical

I just purchased a 1998 Civic EX and want to replace the broken climate control/radio bezel with one from a 1999 Civic EX. I'm just wondering if anyone has made this switch? They are both the same dimensions, but I was wondering what problems I may run into with the wiring being that the 1998 has the slider controls for heat, etc. and stand alone defrost button, while the one I want to install has the dial controls and moved the defrost button to the panel bottom (wired in with the A/C button, and recirc button). Will I need to go junk yarding and find myself the other half of the 99 plug and splice it in, or can the original plug be used?
