my clutch problem

so, i'm driving to my girl's house last night, everything seems to be fine with the car, i can accelerate and pass and drive like a maniac on all the back roads without a problem. coming home in the morning though, i find that my clutch now catches at about the last half inch or so. a pain in the ass to drive but i figured its probably just because it's 10 degrees outside. start the car up this afternoon to go to work and again it is catching at the very end. about halfway to work it just gives up on me and starts slipping like nothing else. it took about a minute to accelerate to 40mph, which pissed off the people behind me as well as myself. i manage to get to work and pop the hood to check all the lines and fluids, everything seems to be in good shape. left work at 10 and the clutch was doing the same thing it did this morning plus slipping if i gave it any more than about 25% throttle.

what's the problem? clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder? i was kind of guessing its not the clutch itself because it was catching at first but now i really dont know. any help or experience with similar problems is greatly appreciated

Re: my clutch problem

have u checked out ur pressure plate or maybe it is the clutch. I mean if it was catching and now it's not maybe its been worn, especially since u were having it catch and then its not now. how old is the car? how much do u race it? and how harddo u drop the clutch? these could all help u determine what part f the clutch system is fucked if its not the whole thing

Re: my clutch problem

never race, never dropped the clutch. its just odd because it happened all of the sudden. like last week it was normal and now this. i havent gotten a chance to give it a thourough look over but im thinking about just replacing the clutch anyway. couple hundred bucks and a day's project seems kinda worth it...

Re: my clutch problem

you might as well replace the throwout bearing while you have everything ripped apart too.
