Re: Air intake
u sure about that? wouldn't that depend on what kind of intake you have?
usually the modifications are listed into two categories for the S13... 89-90 and 91-94... MOst parts aren't interchangeable... |

Re: Air intake
Aren't the Blitz and HKS ones for JDM S13s? And I'm pretty sure the AEM years are typos.

Re: Air intake
Test fit it before you buy it.

Re: Air intake
hold on here one minute!!!!!! u can make your own. My uncle and i jsut made a custom k&n cool air intake bro. Its for his 02" dodge caravan. The thing is totally badass, we just got a k&n airfilter(cone) and 3" pvc pipe a crank case air runoff plug thing and sum tightner/ fasteners. The things sounds SWEETTT especially on his van its got the deep gulping air sounds. Best PROJECT YET i have done so test it. total price was only like 50 bones

Re: Air intake
You shouldn't plug the valvecover evac. hose. Run it back into the intake. The idea here is to run fresh air through the crankcase and get all that blowby out. I bet if you leave it plugged, you'll have some extra nasty oil on the next oil change.

Wtf?
I guess I need to scan and post a Dyno test for all Air Intakes...the K&N Intake got -0.1 TQ and +0.0HP!! WTF! no R&D what so ever!

Re: Air intake
What about venting the valve cover thing? JWT has a tiny little pop-charger for it.

Yes we all know you have the issue of Import Tuner with the RSX dyno And its about as Irrelevant as Logik23's hemmoroids. just because its not as mad JDM Ebay Tyte as Injun doesnt mean they dont have any research behind it... Look at what 90% of every racing field is using

Re: Air intake
Look guys, intake kits do jack shit for the butt dyno. I remember putting my filtercharger on and saying "The engine is a little more responsive and its a little faster in the 3500-5500 rpm range," Truth is, there wasn't much of a difference.
Intakes, exhausts, porting, cams ect are all proportional to how much displacement you have. AKA, IHE really doesn't do jack for small displacement engines. You figure: 146cid*1728cftd=.085cftd .085cft*5500rpm=467.5cfm 467.5cfm/2=233.5cfm 233.75cfm*.069lb/min=16.1 So 16.1lb/min is flow at 100% Volumetric Efficiency. Everyone knows that 1lb/min of airflow is approx. equal to 10hp. So the engine will generate 161bhp at 100% VE. Using trial and error, I get that the engine already has a 96% VE rate. Figure that the intake adds 4%( which is probably being leniant considering the exhaust is the biggest restriction) and the engine makes 161BHP. Stock, you will only see about 128whp. With the intake, you will only see about 132whp. Nothing to spooge over. http://www.importtuner.com/tech/0210it_powerpages/ Yea, its Import Tuner ![]() ![]() ![]() , but a dyno is a dyno.

Re: Air intake
The idea for the valve cover vent is to draw fresh air in through it. At idle, the PCV valve has air being sucked through it. It is a check valve, so when at 22" of HG(idle) it is open sucking all of the blowby out. And it is designed to stay open and vent air out being as it is NA(IMP never goes past 0" of HG theoretically). So there is constantly fresh air going through the engine.
Now for the valve cover vent thingy, it is a bad idea to just draw in fresh air because then you have the equivalent of a vacuum leak. All the air being drawn into the IM has not been metered. Solution: route hose from the valve cover to the intake. It gets more complicated with boosting a NA engine.
