I have a 1989 Grand Prix SE and have some problems I'd like to try and fix. First, the passenger door always jams. My friends can never get in or out of the car after I unlock it, and I think it's the lock that actually gets jammed. Any suggestions? Also, the body kit is cracked pretty good in the front and was wondering what the best way was to repair it. Any tips or guides would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Problems with '89 GP SE
Lubricate and clean out the locking mechanism. It probably got a bunch of gook it there or maybe something is bent or loose causing this to happen. Also welcome to AF.

Easy fix. Take off the inside cover right behind the door pull. There is a little cylinder looking nut at the end of the release rod. Pop it off of the door handle and turn it so that it moves up the rod. If that doesn't work the best place to get a replacement handle is AutoZone. They can special order it. Don't let them tell you they can't because they can. $40
