My '87 302 with the 4Sp ran about 12-16. (Trying to keep my foot out of it...when I wanted to lay rubber, all bets were off.)

This was the EFI model, and the Manual. My '88 with 5.8L and AT got 10-14. That was also EFI.

I would be careful with your lifts. If you ever expect to be in a 'civilized' area, the Bronco itself is just barely small enough to get into some parking garages...

Re: what is the MPG of the 302 in the bronco's?

If your looking at gas mileage, get a car LOL But seriously, get one with EFI and a manual trans. The 87/88s had a crappy auto trans (AODE) that wasnt up to the task of being beat on, so maybe look for one with a manual. The early 80s Broncs are carbbed and MPG will suffer. The early 80s auto trans only had 3 gears, but the upside is that they can be beaten all day long. The 78/79s are true workhorses, but gas mileage could bite in these heavy rigs. They do have the manual NP435 or t18 trans with that 4th gear. The 78/9 auto trans were C6s with only 3 gears. With that said, pick your poision...

My previous 1996 Bronco 5.0 got 15-16 mpg in mixed driving with a soft foot.

88 EFI Auto, 4" lift 35" mudders and I still get around 10-12, so long as I can keep from trying to put my foot to the radiator.
