O2 Sensor wire on top of transmission
Does anyone know how to remove the O2 connector on top of the transmission of 1998 V8 explorer.

I have 1998 V6 and I think I know the one you are thiking of. Is it sort of above the tranny, and between the firewall and the engine? If it is set up the same, I was able to get at it, barely. First of all put it up on jack stands for safety. Then you need to reach and unclip with 1 hand. That's the hard part. Putting the new one in is a little easier. Be patient and don't lose your temper. If you pull the wires out it will be worse. remember that. Look at the clip on the new O2 sensor and you'll get a feel for what you have to do with one hand.
