If your are replacing it with a new one, unplug the electrical connector, remove any vacuum lines, unbolt it from the manifold. Once you have the old one removed, make sure the passageways in the manifold are open. If they are totally blocked you may need to remove the manifold to clean them. A blocked passageway will not allow the EGR to work right. If everything is open simply remove the old gasket, replace it with a new one. Replace the EGR valve, connect the lines and wires and your are done. Not a difficult job.
