2004 factory radio-ipod interfeace?

I have a compg with the standard single disc head unit. I was considering doing an ipod interface with the wiring kits from logjam electronics. I estimate total cost to be about $500 not including installation? I was also considering just purchasing a mp3 cd player head unit from GM. My questions are

1. has anyone done an ipod interface in their 04?
2.does anyone know how much the GM mp3 player head unit is?
3. Which option do you guys think is the best?

Thanks. I would have never thought to look in the 97-03 section.

Well I finally got a quote on what it will cost to have the ipod interface installed.

250 for the wiring kit
150 for labor
250 for the ipod itself

650 + about 8% sales tax. comes to about $700

My question is do you all think it is worth $700 to get this done. I was prepared to pay $500-600 but $700 seems kind of excessive
