3.4 motor is it the only choice?

Is this the only motor offered 3.4? Seems like gas mpg sucks. Figures another try another dud. Just looking for a new replacement for my jimmy, Wifes car and used for trips. So want comfort too.

Looks like the 3.4 is all they offer. Mileage isn't great, 4.2L in the Trailblazer may be worse.

The 3.5 V6 was supposed to be available in 2005. You may want to ask your local dealer when they are supposed to start building them. It is definately a better engine and gets better gas mileage.

hi,

my father has an 05 equinox. i love it, he loves it. its very quick too. it doesnt get the best gas mileage but it is comfortable. i can also tell u that it will stomp all over an 04 v6 toyota solara coupe at a red light. i would recommend it to anybody. he has the front wheel drive model with traction control. everyone ive talked to with it, i pump gas and see a lot, says they dont like the all wheel drive version. good luck.

We bought an 05' Equinox LT and we like it alot. It's responsive, handles we, shifts well, and gets 23-25 mpg. I like the design and the moveable back seat for additional leg room.

I vote 100% satisfaction....so far...except for one occassion where the check engine light came on ...wife shut it off and restarted and has yet to come one again.

Car has 2200 miles on it and all is well....so far....

I especially like too the serpentine belt made out of the new material that will last for 100K - 150K as you have to life the motor, seperate the motor mount to get it off....

Anyway so far so good....

Do you work in China? Isn't the Nox engine built there, transmissions in Mexico, vehicle final assy in Canada? Seems to be a pretty solid machine with a good price at any rate.

Yeah the 3.4L is the only engine offered. Just be glad it's not a 4.2L Inline 6 that's in the TrailBlazers, Buick Rainier's and Envoy's. Those things are PIGS on gas!

Equinox is a very good choice. Almost never in the shop. Can't remember the last one in that wasn't in for just a service.
