cooling system problem

i had the water pump replaced not to long ago.my car is running hot when i drive locally or in traffic.it is fine parked and running or on the highway.could it just be bubbles in the system?or what else?

check your thermostat, may be stuck part way open, idle would be okay, hiway driving would provide enough cooling when moving.?

Thanks for your reply, but I sold it in March. It had too many problems other then the cooling system. I now drive a 1994 Honda Civic and it is a great reliable car!
