Nice! Armor and Aircraft modelers already know this trick, and trust me it works wonders. As an alternative way to make metal finishes, you can use MM Black Chrome as a base, then drybrush silver over that. It looks a little glossier, but that is sometimes a desired effect.

Good tutorial, but ModelMaster Metallizer and Alclad 2 will give better and more durable result.

I find that works really well in sci-fi modeling, where you have to make really burnt up looking engine exhausts.

Yes, Alclad is tough as nails but Metallizers are just as delicate as graphite finishs unless they are sealed.

I've just started using GSI Super metallics however and they are awesome

Well I don't know how you worked with Metallizer, but they are very tough. Most of them are even buffable. They stick well and they there. As for the life, well I only work with them for about 6 months so I can't tell. (it's at last 6 month ) I never used Sealer yet.

I think it is recommended that MM Metalizers be sealed after they have been buffed. There is even a special sealer made for that purpose. Works as a nice semi gloss finish on other things too.

As for the tutorial, we as automotive modelers ususally are after very high gloss finishes, so best to start with a gloss black base rather than the matt black suggested in the tutorial. Then again, it depends on the look you are after.

Agree Farrokh, GSI Creos Metallics are my favourite too.
