'95 Cirrus Shuts Down

Here is my problem. My 1995 Cirrus shuts down when I am braking/slowing down. I can restart it immediately after it shuts down (happens mostly when approaching a traffic light). After I start it again it runs just fine. This happens every 2-3 days. I thought it was fuel related problem, so I changed fuel filter, but this did not solve my problem. It's getting very frustrating. Suggestions anybody? Thanks

EGR valve

My '96 Cirrus was doing something very much like this. It preferred not to idle! It got so bad it wouldn't idle at all. My mechanic diagnosed the problem as the EGR valve being stuck open. When I called him, he told me, "Two foot it in here and we'll take a look at it." Get it? That's what I had to do: at stop lights, keep the brake and accelerator pressed simultaneously. We replaced the EGR valve with a new Mopar unit and the problem went away. Prior to that I had replaced the idle speed motor and the throttle position sensor, maybe for another issue. In any case, it was the EGR valve that was the silver bullet.
