Stuck in 4wd

I have a 2000 blazer stuck in 4wd. The car starts with 2wd drive light on but after a few seconds it blinks back on 4wd. Any suggestions ? I have switched fuses and still the same issue?

Update: I put the car in neutral and both the 4hi and 4lo lights blink. I hear the clicking by the front right tire and when i push the 2hi button it switches to it and it seems like it is back in 2hi. However i cant switch into 4wd anymore. Any thoughts.

You can instant message me or email.

Re: Stuck in 4wd

Start by clearing any codes in the module.
Turn OFF the ignition. Remove the 10 amp CTSY LP and the 20 amp ATC fuses from the I/P fuse block.
Important: Replacing the fuse before the specified time may result in not clearing the DTCs. Wait a minimum of 60 seconds before replacing the fuses. Once the fuse is replaced DTC 1 will be set in the transfer case shift control module. Cycle the ignition switch from the OFF position to the RUN and back OFF five times in order to clear DTC 1 from the transfer case shift control module memory.

Now try it and see what it does.

According to my fuse block guide i dont have a ATC fuse. Could this be the 4x4 fuse? I will try with that and the CTSY LP fuse out and let you know.

Update:

I pulled the CTSY LP Fuse and the 4WD fuse. Left them out of 60 secs. Here is what happens. I can switch into 4wd but it kinda hangs there with 2hi and 4hi lit for 5 seconds then switchs in. After 30 seconds of driving i try to switch back into 2hi the car lose all transmission like i am in neutral. If i put the car in neutral push 2hi the car switchs into 2hi but back to unable to switch to 4wd. Seems like the ATC module is bad or the ATC case. What do you think? Or do you think i have to switch into 4wd and shut the car off to set the module back up and then try switching between 4hi and 2hi?

Thanks

Re: Stuck in 4wd

The best thing at this time is to find out what code is in the system. Here's how:

Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
Connect PIN 13 (5th from the left on the bottom)on the data link cable (DLC) to a ground. The DLC is located under the instrument panel on the driver's side.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Observe the transfer case shift control switch select buttons for flashing codes.
When one DTC is stored in memory, that code will blink that number of times followed by a 3 second pause and then repeat.
If more than one code is stored, the first code will blink, followed by a 3 second pause and then the second code will blink

When you have the codes I can give you the diagnosis.
