99 Blazer no reverse

New here but have been reading forum and have not seen a problem like this. Wondering if anyone has had this problem.

Driving to work yesterday at about 105 km I heard a loud bang and the vehicle switched into 3rd gear. After that I only had 1st and 3rd with no reverse. No problems before and 85000 kms. (55000 miles) and oil change at 50000kms.

No warning lights on dash and fluid ok. Mister T wants 1500 just to take out and look with no garentees.

Thanks

Most likely the reaction sun shell inside the transmission has broken.
This will entail removing the trans and disassembly.

Take it to someone else and get some other quotes.

$1500 for jus that is a scam and a ripoff.

If you pay it, you are being screwed.
