Need Help pickin out rim size n suspensions

Duuudddeess.. help me decide wit a problem i have.. I want to get an rims measuring at 18x7.5 front & rear.. n im prob gettin the WORK japanese rims http://www.worksuperwheels.com/wheels/emotion_cr.html.. will it fit on my del sol? and if it did.. would there be any kind of friction between the tyres n fenders? n wot tyre size would be ideal? a fren recommends gettin a 225/35 for all 4 cos its prob d max it could handle bearing in mind d del sol is a FWD 1.6 litre engine and having bigger tyres would mess up d speedo.. or would it be easier gettin a 17' rims but ill prob hate myself for not gettin an 18'.

Suspensions is another problem im having.. my frens keep on mentioning top brand names like TEIN or EIBACH n SKUNK2 and all but ive always known that the best suspension for a Honda is NEUSPEED. so wot would u guys think if i get the NEUSPEED Coilover Suspension? its got 4 specially manufactured Neuspeed springs and a set of 4 threaded-body Bilstein Shocks.. Lowers approx. 0.75 - 2.5 (F) & 0.75 - 2.5 (R).. sweet aye?

so wot do u all think? should i get a 17' or 18'? is the NEUSPEED Coilover Suspension good enough for a daily driven car?

Well first off, I wouldn't go any bigger than 17s on a Sol. But thats my opinion. If you do want 18s and that drop you'll probably have to roll your fenders. I have 17s and eibach sportlines, and im barely clearing fender. Oh and don't forget if you do drop it that low, replace your struts with shorter ones for that drop, or they will blow. But in all, those are all nice lowering springs, I wouldn't go with coil overs. or 18s. but everyone has their opinions.

get damn 16s.... there is no reason to have 17s on a sol... I have 17s on right now and I hate them. Can't wait to get my 15s back.

Re: Need Help pickin out rim size n suspensions

First off, the Jamaican accent is wierding me out.

Second, I personally wouldn't go larger than 16". I'm more for performance than show, however, so whatever floats your boat. Based on what I know from other people's posts on other boards, you'll have a hard time with 18"s and risk rubbing. You're better off staying with 17" or smaller. Just hope you're not planning to race. You'll have a hard time launching 17"s or 18"s with the small amount of torque the B16A has to begin with.

And honestly, anything larger than 16"s on a Honda looks silly IMO. I roll on 15"s.

As for suspension, Neuspeed, Tein, Eibach, or Skunk2 should all be fine. Just don't buy cheap or you'll regret the poor quality. I'll be installing Tein on mine in the future, but you can install whatever you like.

Yep, 18's are a bad idea unless you are building a show car. with the low profile tires (tyres for you ) you run the risk of creating bubbles in the sidewall over bumps. I would hate having to dodge every bump in the road. You will actually be hurting peformance too. 16's are the best for the civic chassis. I have 15's also, but am planning on 16s.

Re: Need Help pickin out rim size n suspensions

just get some 16" rims with 45 series tires and if your only gonna drop it 1.5", then don't waist your money on coilovers, just get some Eibach pro-kit springs

Thanx for the suggestions..

I went with a very light 17 inch racing wheel by WORK Wheels and just had a B20 block installed but stil using my B16A head but gonna change it to a B18C5 as soonas i can find one. and daaaammmmnn.. it picks up verrryyy ffaasstt..

i also went with the coilovers cos my shocks are almost wearing off so decided with a full suspension replacement using neuspeed. and added a skunk2 front and rear strut bars and handles like a dream.

next thing i wanna do now is change d stock manifold and throttle body. i wanna use the type r manifold cos its a bit larger than d stock manifold but i dun wanna use d type r throttle body. im thinking of gettin a tommei throttle body for nissan's s15 cos its got a wider diameter but doest that mean i have to use nissan's TPS sensor too?
