Strut Tower Brace

Just ordered a Speedbuilt front STB for my 99 GTP. Any thoughts on if I should do the rear as well?

Re: Strut Tower Brace

Thanks Kid. Man you're up late. Would it improve handling that much more over doing just the front?

Just don't buy the ones off Ebay. Was talking with John, said a few people he knows did. Rust city.
Which ones you going to use?

You should order both bars and save some bucks.

You wount feel ahole lot of difference ive had the Next Level which are the same as speedbuilt from the grandprix store, for handling your better off going with larger sway bars front and rear.GMpartsdirect offers a kit 34mm front sway, 19mm rear sway, larger trailing arms and a front stru tower brace for about 150 bucks shipped.

Re: Strut Tower Brace

Already ordered the front from PFYC. Will likely do the back when I find the time. I looked at the handling kit on GMpartsdirect. May also do that down the road. So many parts...so little $$.

Re: Strut Tower Brace

I was told by a fellow Club GP membe that STB don't do anything beneficial to our cars...is this true? and if not, what benefit would it server?

Yes.

The only time you really need STB's are NASCAR, Road Course's or Auto Xing, going at high rates of speed thru the corners, which helps with chassie flex.STB's have no effect on handling. But they sure look nice under the hood

Orrrrr........if you're like me and take the highway "Clover-leaf" off-ramps at 60mph!

I have the Next Level on the front and a GM Parts Direct (Buick Regal GS) STB on the rear. The rear was more noticable than the front. Think about the rear......there's no significant sheet metal between the rear strut towers. The front at least has the firewall.

Buick Regal GS STB. Can't go wrong for $16!!
