Good struts for daily driving

I bought myself a set of H&R sport springs (about 1.5" or 1.6" drop). Never installed b/c I never got around to getting the struts. I was wondering what is a decent pair of struts to use for just driving to school and work everyday with those kind of springs? Do you think Gabriel Ultras would do fine? KYB GR2's? Tein's and Tokicos are too expensive for me now, and I've had these springs a long time and am getting sick of them just sitting in the box when they should be on the car.

I've got stock alloys on as well do you think 18's would be too much? or go with 17's?

I'm not familiar with the install so I called around and the cheapest price I found was $50 each strut if I provide the struts. Is that decent $200 for the whole car still seems high to me but I am kind of cheap but don't want to risk fvcking something up and having my car fall apart on the road. Thanks for the help

you can't afford good struts but u want to buy 17 or 18 inch rims and tires?

ok get kyb. they have a lifetime warranty. 200 is a good price to pay for labot, there is a lot involved in taking apart you suspension, they have to actually remove the whole strut with spring from the car, and compress the spring on a machine just to get the strut off, time that by four and your looking at hours of work. bring your springs to get put on at the same time cause its the same to put it back together. you dont have to pay extra for getting the spring put on. keep your factory spring in case you dont like the dropped effect.trust me.on rims i have 18s on mine, but if your gonna drive daily i would go with 17's. 18s are good but with the drop you might start rubbin your tires on your fenders, or have problems with potholes. i have change 3 sets of tires, and fixed one bent rim thanks to potholes. the tread on the tires dosent go bad but after a good hole you might develop a bubble on your tire, which means you will need a new one. good luck

I personally love my KYB AGX. I dont know the KYB gr2's though. I have a setup with KYB AGX and eibach pro kit springs. The pro kit lowered my car 1.2 inches and the AGX struts work well with that so im assuming that you can get away with the inch and a half drop with your springs. AGX struts are great for daily driving because it stiffens the ride up but you still feel a smooth ride, just dont aim for potholes! You can also adjust these to 8 settings in the back and 4 up front (from stiffer to softer). I have this on a 92 accord.
